Much of Cinder is centered around letumosis, a highly contagious and deadly disease that’s plaguing the Earth of the novel. Meyer lives in Tacoma, Washington with her husband and two daughters. Her most recent novel, Instant Karma, was released in 2020. She then published the Renegades trilogy ( Renegades, Archenemies, and Supernova). In 2016, Meyer wrote Heartless, a stand-alone novel focusing on the Queen of Hearts from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Those novels adapt the stories of Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Snow White, and the Evil Queen, respectively. She was inspired to write Cinder after participating in the 2008 National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) contest, in which she wrote a story focusing on a futuristic version of fairy tale “Puss in Boots.” After publishing Cinder in 2012, she went on to write Scarlet, Cress, Winter, and Fairest for The Lunar Chronicles series. After graduating, Meyer worked as a book editor for five years in Seattle. She subsequently attended Pacific Lutheran University, where she received a degree in creative writing, and then earned a master’s degree in publishing from Pace University. I have a Scarlet hoodie, even more precious. Those are so amazing and I love them all so much. I also have a signed hardcover of Cinder and a signed UK paperback of Cinder. Two Cinder mirrors, which might be my favorite part of all of it. I own a lot of The Lunar Chronicles things. Hoping it will be the best of the books, which might not even be possible :) I'm really excited to read it again and then I will just be dying for Cress. Already been about nine months since I read it. I will be re-reading Scarlet tomorrow and I cannot wait to read it again. Fits so well with Cinder and Scarlet, and I'm just dying to read it. The cover for the third book in this four-book-series was just revealed.
Because this is a fairytale that you all need to fall in love with. If you haven't yet read Cinder I do not know what you are waiting for.
She's so kind and amazing and I just really love her. I also adore the author, Marissa, so much. So I won't talk too much about the book this time :) Just know that it is amazing and I know I will re-read it several times more in my life. I feel like I have talked about my love for this book a lot of times, and I guess I have. Everything in this book is just so exciting. I enjoyed reading about the Lunars, and I'm excited about learning more about them and their world, Luna. Loved even more that we got to read from his point of view as well. Not too much, but it is really sweet and real and just all kinds of cute. Yet there are small moments of joy and happiness. The main character, Cinder, is a sixteen year old cyborg girl. It is also all kinds of heartbreaking, just so you know. But I did want to share more of my love for it.Ĭinder is just such an amazing book. This won't be a very long post, since I have written a review for Cinder ages ago and a book recommendation post last year. I don't think there is any way that I could have loved this book more. The story is unique, even though it is based on Cinderella. The writing is perfect and the characters are so well done. I just finished reading this amazing book for the third time.
